Every captive oval board drain plug has an o-ring inside and is connected by NPS threads. O-rings are used to achieve the seal. This design allows our captive garboard drain plug to better adapt to a system of pipes and pumps that helps to take in and expel the water ballast of a boat. Additionally, the oval drain plug kit’s retention system stops the plug from falling out when it is removed.
When the boat is in the water, the drain hole can be securely closed, and the captive drain plug can be unscrewed for drainage. We advise users to install the captive drain plug on a kayak or canoe, the deck of a typical boat, a kitchen sink and so on. Make sure the tube doesn’t extend past the transom’s inner wall or the thickness of the boat when installing.
Hiever captive drain plug kit has a flanged joint design on the exterior. We advise using a marine sealant that is intended for use below the waterline on the flange.
